A British national and an alleged fugitive being sought by interpol today appeared before the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi, Kenya, facing charges of threatening to kill a prominent Kenyan real estate businessman. Nuur Ahmed Mohamed, the accused, pleaded not guilty to one count of threatening to kill Abdi Hassan Mohamed, as well as an additional count of assault. The court proceedings shed light on an incident that occurred on November 4, 2023, at the Westgate Shopping Mall in the Westlands Sub County of Nairobi County.

During the court hearing presided over by Magistrate Honourable Martha Nanzushi, it was alleged that Nuur Ahmed Mohamed, without lawful excuse, uttered words threatening to kill Abdi Hassan Mohamed at the Westgate Shopping Mall. The incident, which took place at the aforementioned location, involved an altercation between the accused and the real estate magnate. Furthermore, Ahmed was charged with assault for causing bodily harm to Hassan Mohammed on the same day at the mall.

During the hearing, Benson Nzakyo, the lawyer representing the complainant, requested the court to deny the accused person bail or bond due to his foreign nationality and the potential flight risk and witness interference. The court acknowledged the request and scheduled a mention of the case for Friday, during which the bail or ruling will be addressed.
