Pilot Eric Lugalia Charged With Forging Documents to Acquire Ksh250M Karen Land
On Friday, a Kenya pilot was presented before court on allegations of falsifying documents in order to acquire a Ksh250 million land in Karen, Nairobi.
The accused, Eric Lugalia, allegedly forced the documents intending to defraud the land belonging to Stuart Gerald Cullinan Herd.
The 1.970 hectares piece of land, which is valued at Ksh250 million is located along Bogani Road.
According to the charge sheet, the accused reportedly forged the land title dated August 2, 2005 “purporting it to be a genuine Certificate of tittle issued by the Ministry of Lands.”
The court documents indicate that he was charged with another crime of forging a sale agreement for the land “purporting it to be a genuine document signed by Jonathan Kipkemboi Toroitich.”
Interesting to note, the purported signee is the deceased son of former President the late Daniel arap Moi.
The pilot denied the charges of making the documents, including an instrument of transfer, and was granted a cash bail of Ksh150,000.
Through his lawyers, the accused prayed that the court bars the media from publishing the case, a request which was dismissed
The case will be heard on July 30 as set by presiding Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe.
