The High Court has stopped temporarily construction of three phase of multi-billion project by Tatu City Limited in Kiambu County.

“An order be and is hereby issued maintaining the current status quo until 16 of January,” says the order.

Justice Joseph Onguto issued the orders after Ongata Work Limited moved to the high court commercial division seeking orders to restrain Tatu City from expelling or interfering with the ongoing works on the site pending hearing and determination of the suit.

The company wants court to stop the termination Notice dated 13 of December 2017 and contract entered on the 2 of February last year.

The company further wants Tatu City restrained from awarding the Contract Agreement dated 3 of February 2017 for the construction of Trunk Roads TC101, TC 101 and TC02 and construction of Kijani infrastructure to any other company.

The construction firm also wants the company stopped from effecting the termination notice dated 13 December 2017.

The application was certified urgent. Hearing of the suit to resume on 16 of January for further directions.
