A Gilgil teacher wanted for inciting violence in the infamous Rwandan genocide has five days in the country before he is handed over to President Paul Kagame’s authorities.

Celestin Ntarwanda Alias Edouard Nsengimana is fearful that his extradition is life threatening and has strongly opposed an application seeking to have him taken back to his country, Rwanda.

Ntarawada is a French teacher at Giligil Hills School in Nakuru.

According to documents filed in court, a warrant of arrest was issued on April 21 2015 by Prosecutor General Richard Muhumuza of the Republic of Rwanda.

“Celestin Ntarwanda Alias Edouard Nsengimana be and is hereby ordered to be returned and or conveyed out of Kenya and surrendered to the Republic of Rwanda to face charges of incitement to commit genocide and Extermination as a crime against Humanity,’’ the court heard.

The court in Kenya has been asked to endorse the warrants of arrest issued in Rwanda for execution in Kenya.

In the warrant, Mr Muhumuza claims that Ntarwanda perpetrated widespread and systematic attacks against the Tutsi civilians with intent and knowledge of the systematic attack.

He further stated that there were no legal restrictions to the endorsement of the warrant of arrest.

The Nairobi court will on the eve of valentine rule on whether Ntarwanda will be released on bail pending hearing and determination of the extradition application.

He was remanded at Muthaiga police station pending the ruling Next Week.
